Dear Colleagues,
we are pleased to announce the second edition of GAIA – Generative AI and Actions for a Changing World, a four-day Winter School dedicated to Generative Artificial Intelligence, with a particular focus on its connection with cybersecurity. The school will take place in Rimini, Italy, from December 14 to 17, 2026.
GAIA 2026 is designed for PhD students and early-career researchers in computer science, mathematics, and engineering. The program will cover the mathematical and algorithmic foundations of generative models for text and images, together with emerging applications and security-related challenges. The topics will include deepfake detection, the use of LLMs for offensive and defensive cybersecurity tasks, adversarial robustness, AI agents for cybersecurity, and image reconstruction from incomplete data.
No previous knowledge of Generative AI is required, as the necessary concepts will be introduced during the school through a combination of theoretical lectures and practical sessions.
The school includes 25 hours of in-person teaching. Participants who require academic credit recognition will also have the opportunity to take a final examination.
