CALL FOR RESEARCH PITCHES
ITASEC & SERICS – Joint National Conference on Cybersecurity
Siena, Italy, February 8-12, 2027
Researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and PhD students actively working in Cybersecurity and or related areas are invited to participate in the ITASEC27 Research Pitch, which will be held as part of the Joint National Conference on Cybersecurity. The ITASEC27 Research Pitch session offers an opportunity for young researchers to introduce themselves and their research ideas to the cybersecurity community, including representatives from academia, industry, government, and research institutions. The three winners of the previous editions are not eligible to participate.
Prospective participants will be invited to attend an optional online seminar on how to prepare an effective pitch. Those wishing to attend must first submit an expression of interest, including a title and a short abstract. The expression of interest is required only for participation in the seminar and is not a prerequisite for submitting a final proposal. All eligible participants may submit their pitch as a video.
Proposed contributions will be evaluated by the selection committee, taking into account the originality and significance of the research idea as well as the effectiveness of the presentation. Authors of selected pitches will be required to attend and deliver a two-minute oral presentation of their pitch during a plenary session at ITASEC27 in Siena. The presented pitches will be evaluated by a jury composed of experts from academia, institutional entities, and industry. The top three pitches will be awarded based on impact, feasibility, novelty, and presentation.
Submission Guidelines
All submissions must be made through EasyChair by selecting the ITASEC27 Research Pitch track: https://easychair.org/
Prospective participants who wish to attend the optional online training seminar must first submit an expression of interest in English, including the authors’ names, the pitch title, and a short abstract. Submitting an expression of interest is not required to participate in the Research Pitch competition.
Final pitch submissions must be in English and include a homemade 2-minute video that presents the research idea and explains its impact, feasibility, and novelty. The link to the video must be included in the abstract field, and access permissions must be configured to allow external users to view and download the file.
Participants who have already submitted an expression of interest do not need to create a new submission: they only need to update the abstract of their existing EasyChair submission by adding the video link.
