By Antonio Caruso

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for EO4CUR 2026 – Earth Observation Data for Climate and Urban Resilience, a full-day workshop organized in conjunction with the 2026 IEEE International Conference on Big Data (IEEE BigData 2026), taking place in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, on December 14–17, 2026.

EO4CUR 2026 aims to bring together researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of Earth Observation, Big Data systems, machine learning, geospatial AI, and climate and urban resilience.

We welcome original research papers, applied contributions, benchmark and dataset papers, system demonstrations, and position papers on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Scalable and cloud-native EO data infrastructures and pipelines
  • Distributed and real-time EO processing
  • Multi-sensor and multimodal EO data fusion
  • Foundation models and self-supervised learning for Earth Observation
  • Federated and privacy-preserving learning for geospatial AI
  • Climate and urban risk analytics, including floods, wildfires, windstorms, landslides, and urban heat
  • Resilient mobility and critical infrastructure monitoring
  • EO-driven digital twins, scenario modelling, and decision-support systems
  • Integration of EO with in-situ sensors, mobility, OSM, climate, and administrative data
  • Benchmarks, reproducibility, FAIR data, and trustworthy AI for EO
  • Operational and public-sector applications of large-scale EO systems
