Dimensions of Quality Assurance in Informatics Education 2011
Quality assessment of education at the level of disciplines plays a strong role for academic and professional mobility in the EHEA and the comparability and relevance of qualifications. Field-specific QA-networks have gained continuously importance over the recent years. Labels such as the EUR-ACE Label for the field of engineering or the Eurobachelor/Euromaster Label in the field of chemistry have been operating with great success for some time now.
In 2009 the European stakeholders in and around the European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education (EQANIE) decided to initiate the award of the Euro-Inf Quality Label to accredited degree programmes in the field of informatics. The Label is either awarded directly by EQANIE or in the context of national accreditation, e.g. such as the accreditation agency ASIIN in Germany.
